Burnett Family


French fur trader William Burnett settled on the St. Joseph River near Niles, Michigan, after the Revolutionary War. He established two successful trading posts and eventually married Kaukima, daughter of revered Bodéwadmi leader Nanaquiba and sister to Topinabee.
