Citizen Potawatomi Nation Cultural Heritage Center
The Cultural Heritage Center houses the Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s museum, archives, research center & library, Tribal Heritage Productions, veteran memorial, Tribal Language and Tribal Enrollment Departments. It was envisioned as a living history museum and cultural center, where tribal members, the Native American community and the public at large could learn about the culture and history of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation in order to come to a better understanding of who they are as tribal members, and the tribe’s important role in the history of the United States.
It has introduced a central location for tribal members to gather, learn and share knowledge that they have about CPN’s intricate history, as it relates to their family and the tribe as a whole. The CHC is at the heart of our tribal gatherings and an important destination focusing on communal cultural, social and educational activities, tribal history and language instruction, spiritual observances and governance.
Our Mission
The Citizen Potawatomi Nation Cultural Heritage Center serves as a living center of edification to our tribal membership and the public unifying and perpetuating the diverse culture, traditions and history of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation through research, interpretation and exhibition.
