Black Ash Log Workshop – continued

Join us for an ongoing community gathering celebrating Bapagakwêgen (Black Ash) and traditional basket-making! Get hands-on pounding, separating, and splitting black ash while sharing stories, skills, and cultural knowledge. All experience levels are welcome — drop in, join the fun, and learn at your own pace. No experience needed, just come as you are!
All materials provided! No capacity limit. Everyone is welcome!
Instructors: Madylin Teel and Tyler Hughes
Event host: Naganwétek | Robert Collins
Note: Log-pounding is physically demanding, involving moderate lifting and repetitive striking; participants may assist at their comfort level. Material-splitting is less strenuous.
