Mang (Loon)
The negosek (stars) and their constellations help steer our thoughts and teachings, as much of our ancient knowledge originates from the sky. Each season the sky changes and familiar constellations are seen again.
The Mang constellation or “Little Dipper” and its neighboring stars resemble a loon, with black feathers and white spots. A revered spirit, the Loon is among our first clans. Creator gifted Mang the power of chieftainship and only those with natural qualities and abilities for leadership were among this clan. Working with the Crane clan, together they provide a stable government for our people.
