Black Ash Log Workshop

Join our neshnabékwé artesan for a hands-on Black Ash Log Workshop to explore the cultural significance of black ash and traditional basket making. Participants will pound, separate, and split logs into materials. Whether you’re new or experienced, come learn, share, and help in a welcoming, come-and-go environment – no full commitment required. All materials provided; all are welcome.
Note: Log-pounding is physically demanding, involving moderate lifting and repetitive striking; participants may assist at their comfort level. Material-splitting is less strenuous.
Instructors: Madylin Teel and Tyler Hughes
Event host: Naganwétek | Robert Collins
